How old should my dog be before training begins?
You can start training your puppy as young
as 8 weeks old or as old as 12 yrs. The younger
you start the easier it is on you and your
dog.
Do I need to be part of the Training?
We highly recommend that you and your family
are part of the lesson. We train both the
dog and the owner. The challenge is not the dog,
it is usually the human counterpart that handles them
on a daily basis needing to learn about timing, reading the dogs
body language and how to handle . As our saying goes, "Teach
the dog and train the owner".
Can I begin even if my puppy has not yet received
all the necessary shots?
Your puppy should have at least 2 sets of
shots before you attend any Private classes
or Puppy imprinting classes. Group classes
with puppies 4 months and older need all their
shots including rabies.
My dog is more than 5 years old, can I still
train him?
ANY dog at ANY age can learn. We specialize
in Behavioral Rehabilitation and Obedience
for ALL breeds at ANY age.
How far in advance should I schedule an appointment?
For our GROUP puppy classes we advise you
to call and get your name on the list as classes
fill “first come, first serve”.
Or you are welcome to call and set up a FREE
evaluation at our facility.
Do you work evenings or weekends?
Yes, we do. We are open 6 days a week. Monday
through Friday 9-6 & Saturday 9-1 by appointment
only.
How do I set up an appointment?
Give us a call (925) 240-8292
or click on the "Contact Us" link
button.
How much time will I have to spend working
with my dog between sessions?
We recommend that you spend at least 30 minutes
a day (15 minutes in the morning and 15 in
the evening). That will guarantee a quick
response from your dog. Training a dog should
take weeks, not months!!
