Alert K-9 Training Center was founded by Ryan Tulchinsky, a lifelong animal lover raised in the Bay Area. Growing up in a farming community surrounded by animals, Ryan developed an early respect for the bond between humans and dogs.
That connection deepened in 1996 when he and his wife brought home an Akita – intelligent, independent, and stubborn. Her behavior challenged everything he thought he knew about training, sparking a lifelong passion for understanding canine psychology and communication.
What began as curiosity soon became a calling. Ryan immersed himself in studying animal behavior and launched Alert K-9 in 1997 to help others build the same clarity and connection he discovered.
